Pakistan cricket superstar Shahid Khan Afridi lead ‘Afridi 11’ to victory against ‘TDP 11’ in an exhibition match organised by the Pakistan Army at the Bakakhel camp in Bannu for the affectees of the North Waziristan operation.
The match was contested between Shahid Afrid-11 and TDPs-11. Thousands of spectators had gathered to watch the match between the two sides.
Afridi said the children had continued their activities despite of their surrounding conditions and if they were continuously provided with facilities some of them would surely make the national team.
“There is a lot of talent here,” Afridi said. “But there are no academies here to make use of this talent.” “I give the Pak army immense credit for this and for providing IDPs with education,” he said.
Afridi brought smiles to the crowd by displaying his batting skills. He was dismissed after scoring 45 runs for his team.
Director General of Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR) Major General Asim Bajwa, in an exclusive talk with ARY News, said that national heroes want to stand shoulder to shoulder with the displaced persons whereas many people want to give donations to help the affected persons.
