Peshawar — A man shot dead a girl who was a 3rd-year student at Abbottabad International Medical College (AIMC) for refusing to the marriage proposal, in Kohat on Sunday.
Asma Rani, a student of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) 3rd year was in her hometown Kohat on vacation where a man named Mujahid Afridi opened fire on her, local police told media.
Mujahid Afridi who was waiting outside Asma’s home along with his brother, Sadiqullah Afreedi when he targeted her thrice during she was coming home with her sister-in-law.
Asma was rushed to the District Headquarter Hospital Kohat where a team of doctors led by Surgeon Dr. Nisar tried for more than 10 hours to get her back to life but she succumbed to her wounds on Sunday evening.
The family of late Dr. Asma Rani said that Mujahid Afridi wanted to marry Aasma and had issued threats in the past too.
A case was registered against the accused, as the police continue to search for the fugitive and his accomplice.
The suspect’s family asserted that he has escaped to Dubai however; police has yet not confirmed the statement.
Claiming to be a cousin of the deceased, Zaheer Khan Burki demanded the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for justice and quick arrest of Mujahid Afridi, in a facebook post.
Asma told his brother before she took her last breath name of the killer, Mujahid Afridi who is a nephew of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) district president Aftab Alam.
