Naqeebullah Mehsud’s friends have disclosed the harrowing details of being abducted and said that Naqeeb was tortured badly as they had heard his screams.
The 27-year old Naqeebullah of South Waziristan and his friends were picked up by SSP Malir Rao Anwar led police team from a hotel in Shah Latif Town, Karachi on January 3, 2018.
Two of them Qasim and Ali shared the whole story since they first become friends with Naqeeb on facebook and then they were abducted together by police.
“We were taken to Sachhal police station first. We waited for 50 minutes, then a cloth was tied to our eyes and we were taken to an undisclosed location,” Ali said while talking to Geo News (tv).
Ali remarked: “They took Naqeeb first and tortured him. We could hear his screams. After Naqeeb, the men started to beat us up.”
After a while, the men forcefully put Naswar (a chewable tobacco derivative) down my throat. “I couldn’t stop vomiting after that,” said Ali. “The men also questioned us regarding Naqeeb.”
Naqeeb’s friend Qasim said that they were there for some time and then let go. “Naqeeb had been separated from us. The police threatened to not discuss the incident with anyone else,” he added.
On January 16, 2018, Naqeeb’s relatives confirmed that he was killed in suspected fake police encounter.
