Peshawar — Improvised Explosive Device (IED) fitted to a motorcycle set off targeting an army vehicle and killed at least six people and injured eight others in Mir Ali Tehsil of North Waziristan on Tuesday evening.
Mir Ali’s Assistant Political Agent Muhammad Irfan said that a person running his motorcyle was trying to hit the army vehicle on Mir Ali Miranshah road in Khadi village of Mir Ali.
The targeted military vehicle was carrying three civilian candidates seeking recruitment in the army. All the three recruits along with three other civilians have been killed in the blast.
Three security personnel and five civilians were injured who have been shifted to District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Bannu for medical treatment.
Security forces corned off the areas and launched a search operation in the area but arrest of nobody was reported.
