Khyber Agency — The top administrative officials of Khyber Agency while talking journalists on the closing ceremony of Tirah sports festival said that government has launched mega developmental projects in area and was investing Rs3.50 billion on various projects. Political agent of Khyber Agency said that the government was paying special attention to resolve all the basic issues of Tirah people.

Pointing out various miseries before tribal journalists who were on the visit of Tirah for the coverage of Tirah Sports Festival the locals criticized that the population of more than 0.1 million neither has government school nor they have any health facilities which have doubled the hopelessness and depression of people. The locals of Tirah Naeem Shah, Muhammad Tariq, Gul Zaman and Fazal Amin said that the authorities had not performed the fair survey of IDPs. They said although some families were registered during the survey have also not been compensated by the political administration.

“The authorities had promised that Rs.0.4 million will be given to those being deprived of homes during the incidents of terrorism”. The locals complained adding that no victim family of Tirah has been compensated what the officials had promised with them.

The locals also demanded the government to establish NADRA office in Tirah valley saying that due to the non availability of the NADRA office they were facing problems to get national identity card.

Earlier the political agent of Khyber Agency Khalid Mehmood while talking mediamen during the closing ceremony of Tirah Sports Festival said that government was spending Rs. 3.5 billion on various developmental projects in Tirah including Education, health and road construction projects.

It is to mention here that directorate of sports and culture FATA has organized a week long sports festival at Maidan area of Tirah where local sports men participated in various games.
